These are some of the areas about which students may learn from our expert faculty of scholars and professionals. We offer two majors: Communication and Journalism & Broadcasting. Students in the Communication Major may choose to specialize in Interpersonal & Organizational Communication or Public & Mediated Communication. Students in the Journalism & Broadcasting Major may concentrate in Media Production, Multimedia Journalism, Public Relations or Media Studies.
Our alumni have gone on to careers at radio and TV stations, newspapers, not-for-profit organizations, Fortune 500 companies and colleges/universities throughout the U.S. Some have even started their own businesses.
The College at Brockport is a member of the Broadcast Education Association , the National Communication Association and the Eastern Communication Association. The department sponsors a chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Honor Society, and a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
