Excellence in Leadership
- The successful program/institution will have demonstrated exemplary leadership at the university, particularly as it relates to Men of Color and facilitating their success at the institution
- Potential recipient nominations are evaluated on their demonstrated leadership in one or more of the following areas:
- Organization, departments or teams
- Projects, programs or research
- Fiscal management or fund raising
- Mentoring and/or Peer Development
- Submissions must be received by September 30, 2011
Excellence in Student Programming
- The Excellence in Programming Award recognizes the most outstanding contributions made by a student organization(s), athletic team(s), or residence hall staff group(s), for developing and implementing an activity, civic engagement project, or philanthropic endeavor that met or advanced the needs of Men of Color on the campus. An activity or project is defined as supporting a cause through a deed or physical service. A philanthropic activity is defined as one that supports a cause through the collection or raising of goods, monies, or awareness. Service activities, civic engagement projects, or philanthropic endeavors may not be primarily designed to raise awareness of the student organization or raise monies or collect goods for the student organization.
- Programs which are being nominated for this award must have occurred between August 1, 2010 and August 1 2011.
- Submissions must be received by September 30, 2011
Innovative Retention Strategies
- Significant collaboration with administrators/faculty on campus
- Submit a 250 word (or less) essay describing why your institution or program is a candidate to receive the award. Please feel free to include any literature, brochures, testimonials, etc., you believe help to properly describe the nature of your program, its focus and success
- Submissions must be received by September 30, 2011
