2014-2015 Concert Performances and Events

Tickets may be purchased online at fineartstix.brockport.edu or at Tower Fine Arts Center Box Office. Box Office Hours: Mondays-Fridays from 9:30am-5 pm, Saturdays from 10am-4pm, or call (585) 395-ARTS. Credit card reservations and remaining tickets will be available at the Hartwell Box Office one hour prior to scheduled performance times.

All performances take place in Hartwell Dance Theater, unless otherwise noted. Hartwell Dance Theater features RESERVED seating for all performances; please arrive early to ensure being seated before the performance begins. Seating in all other venues will be by general admission.

DANCE/Strasser

 

Thursday – Saturday, Sept. 11-13, 2014   at 7:30 pm
$16/$11 Seniors, Alumni, Faculty and Staff/$8.50 Students
Rose L. Strasser Studio, Hartwell Hall
Post-performance discussions follow the Thursday and Saturday evening performances.


The Strasser Studio is an alternative venue used by the Department of Dance, recognized nationally as one of the most distinctive college dance programs. With the audience surrounding the stage on three sides, they enjoy a multi-faceted view of some extremely talented dancers.

Thursday – Saturday Oct. 16-18, 2014 at 7:30 pm
$16/$11 Seniors, Alumni, Faculty and Staff/$8.50 Students
Hartwell Dance Theater, Hartwell Hall

With dynamism, athleticism, and grace, these concerts feature graduate and undergraduate student choreography. MFA thesis works shown at these performances can help propel these dance-makers into their professional lives.

A reception will follow this performance.
Only cash and checks will be accepted at the door for the Saturday performance.

DANSCORE is the perfect opportunity to see pieces created by nationally and internationally renowned faculty members, whom Rochester's City Newspaper calls are some of the "top names" in the field. The diverse choreographic voices highlights the talented dancers.

Sankofa African Dance and Drum Ensemble

Invigorating and life-affirming, the Sankofa troupe brings Carnivale to Brockport. Artistic director Clyde Alafiju Morgan and musical director Khalid N'Faly Saleem meld African, Caribbean and Latin cultures together for a vibrant, energetic production that can't help putting a smile on everyone's faces.
