Anne Burnidge, assistant professor, teaches modern dance, ballet and conditioning. Originally from the Chicago area, she trained at prestigious schools including the Ruth Page Foundation and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She has an MFA in Choreography from The Ohio State University, a BS in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University, and is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst. She has taught dance, Laban Movement Analysis, and the Bartenieff Fundamentals at SUNY Buffalo, Buffalo State College, The Ohio State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Columbia College Chicago. Anne has performed with Nicole Stanton, Buffalo Dance Theater, Helander Dance Theater, Open Door Theater, and others. As co-artistic director of Burnidge Clark Dance Project, she has presented her work at Wax Works in Brooklyn, NY and at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She has also produced work in New York, Illinois, Colorado, Ohio, and North Carolina. As a teacher, choreographer and performer, Anne strives to understand the potential of the human body and ways in which the body and mind work together to communicate with others and make sense of the world.
