Emma Scholl

Emma Scholl, costume designer and technician for theatre, dance, and film, holds an MFA in Costume Design from Florida State University. She is currently the full time costumer for SUNY Brockport’s Department of Dance, and previously managed the costume shop for The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca New York.

She has worked with faculty, student, and guest choreographers designing dance costumes at Bucknell University, Florida State University, and Bloomsburg University. In addition to her work with the Department of Dance she enjoys collaborating with Brockport faculty on professional solos and company pieces. The José Limón Dance Foundation named her a finalist for designs submitted to the Emperor Jones Design Competition in 2010.

Her theatrical design and technical work has been seen at the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, The Hangar Theatre, Steel River Playhouse, and the Milburn Stone Theatre. She has also designed costumes for productions and taught undergraduate courses in costume design and technology, at Bloomsburg University and Florida State University. Recent theatrical design credits include: Full Gallop, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Julius Caesar, RENT, and The Drowsy Chaperone. You can see examples of her work at www.emmascholl.com.
