Molly Christie is a Katherine Dunham Technique Certified Teacher who received her accreditation from Ms. Dunham in 2004. A life long student of the technique, she is honored to have been a technique demonstrator for both Ms. Dunham and Vanoye Aikens. She has presented on Katherine Dunham’s legacy at the New York Dance Critics Association Conference and Dance on Camera Festival.

Ms. Christie holds a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts, and is currently an MFA in Performance and Choreography candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at SUNY College at Brockport.

She is co-founder, choreographer and costumer for Trio Dourado Brazilian Dance Company in Philadelphia, and was a member of Olorun Cuban Folklore company and a soloist with the Afro-Cuban theatrical production Patakin, in San Francisco. She has conducted dance and music research in Havana, Cuba and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and in 2000 received a Leeway Foundation grant to study traditional dance and music in Dakar, Senegal.

Ms. Christie is a mat and equipment certified Pilates instructor, and for the past 10 years has presented her HIV/AIDS prevention education program, Reality Check, to schools and community organizations throughout the United States.
