Entrance in the Dance Major Programs is by audition only. Grades of C or better are required for all courses in the major. Students must be enrolled in modern dance and/or ballet technique to be eligible for participation in the departmental dance productions, including DANSCORE, Dance/Hartwell, Dance/Strasser, New Dancers Showcase, Graduation Dances and special works by guest artists and graduate students. This requirement does not apply to participation in SANKOFA, the Department of Dance's African Dance and Drum Ensemble.
Dance is offered as a speciality option in the Interdisciplinary Arts for Children major. Also, The College at Brockport students can combine a BA/BS dance major curriculum with existing programs in other departments that prepare them for graduate study in dance therapy, arts management, dance medicine, and other careers.

NOTE: The dance audition, offered three times annually (October, February and April), is required for admission to all four programs (BFA in Dance, BA/BS in Dance, Interdisciplinary Arts for Children: Dance Specialty, and Minor in Dance).
