The Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Business Administration is a 66-credit hour graduate degree program. Candidates entering the School Business Administration program without an earned master's degree may earn the master's degree as part of this program.
Candidates who matriculate into the program with an earned master's degree receive 24 hours of transfer credit for the master's, leaving them 42 hours of work to complete the educational requirements for the degree. There are 30 hours of course work, a 6-hour practicum, and a 6-hour administrative internship. The course of study is listed below:
Upon completion of the 42 hours listed above and successfully passing the School District Business Leader (SDBL) leadership assessment administered by the New York State Education Department, candidates are awarded the CAS degree, which is the post–master’s/pre–doctorate degree. In addition, they are eligible to apply for the SDBL (School District Business Leader) certification from the New York State Education Department.
Candidates who matriculate into the program without an earned master's degree would complete the entire 66 hours of course work for the program, 30 hours of which would be the master's degree. The course of study is listed below:
The above 30 credit hours would comprise the course work required for the master's degree. Upon completion of the master's degree, the candidate would then complete the CAS portion of the program. The additional course work required for the CAS is listed below:
Candidates who matriculate into the program without an earned master's
degree, but who have taken graduate level course work, would be eligible
for up to 24 hours of transfer credit into the program of study. A maximum
of 12 hours of transfer credit for the master's degree and 12 hours of
transfer credit for the CAS degree would be considered. Evaluation of
the previous graduate work would be at the discretion of the SBA Program
Coordinator, Dr. Steven Ayers.
The School Business Administration Program is offered in the cycle format

learning experience. Further information regarding the School Business
