The Department of Educational Administration is a member of the Professional Education Unit at The College at Brockport and is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for its teacher education programs.
Thousands of students have graduated the program, with many of them going on to serve in administrative positions throughout the state and even the country. Quite a few program graduates return to the department as adjunct faculty, bringing with them their knowledge and expertise as a field practitioner.
The Department’s mission is a commitment to preparing educators who can effectively fulfill a variety of leadership roles in education. The Department has and continues to recruit and serve women and minority group persons. This endeavor has been very successful and has contributed to increasing the number of female and minority administrators in public schools throughout the state.
Carol Godsave is the chair of the department. Carol Godsave brings with her a large repertoire of public school teaching and administrative experience which will continue to serve her well as she continues to build the program's reputation as a recognized leader in the area of training school administrators. The department also has a strong and highly regarded team of adjunct faculty, the majority of whom are currently practicing administrators, who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise into the classroom.
