Counselor Education: Alumni Profiles
As the Senior Associate Director for the University of Rochester's Career Center, I work primarily with undergraduate students in one-to-one counseling appointments and plan large and small scale events, programs, and workshops. My role is to assist my students as they form and implement their career goals. I love my position because college students are so energizing - they are eager to take on the world and my job helps them to develop their potential. The Counselor Education program at Brockport gave me the necessary tools to truly hear what my students are saying, to be able to connect with them, and to work with them through the many times that they feel stuck and unsure. Determining your future path and making the transition from college to the real world is wrought with anxiety, resistance, and trepidation - as a counselor from SUNY Brockport, not only am I comfortable working with students on these issues, but I really enjoy the process and love watching the outcomes.
