Mission Statement

     The Department of Education and Human Development at SUNY College at Brockport is committed to providing programs which prepare its graduates to meet the highest professional teacher standards for certification in New York state.

      The department is committed to preparing graduates who will be agents of change within the larger community and leaders who will promote and advance educational reforms, which improve student learning.

NCATE Accreditation

The Department of Education and Human Development is a member of the Professional Education Unit at SUNY Brockport and is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for its teacher education programs.

 

Spring 2008 Course Changes

  • Spring 2008 literacy courses with no prerequisites for any graduate student matriculated in EHD programs: EDI 738 Reading and Writing in the Content Areas, and EDI 739 Language Arts in Literacy Instruction.
  • EDI 527.01 will meet the following Saturdays during the Spring 2008 semester: January 26, February 9, 23, March 1, 8, and April 26.
