Cyril and Gertrude Stanton Hare Award

The Cyril and Gertrude Stanton Hare Award is in honor of Cyril Hare Sr. and Gertrude Stanton Hare, parents of Marguerite Hare Browne, class of 1944, member of the Hall of Heritage and Emeritus Professor of Education from 1949-1985. The award recognizes an undergraduate or graduate student from Greece, New York community who demonstrates the potential to be an outstanding teacher.

Eligibility:

  1. Undergraduate from Greece, New York who has completed at least 6 hours in the certification program, or graduate student from Greece, New York who has completed at least 6 hours of graduate education course work.

Criteria:

  1. Demonstrate strong academic excellence with a GPA of 3.0.
  2. Demonstrate potential to be an outstanding teacher.
  3. Two letters of support.
