THE RICHARD L. CANUTESON AWARD


This award is in honor of the late Dr. Richard L. Canuteson who served as a Professor of Education from 1948-1969. The Richard L. Canuteson Scholarship is awarded each year to an outstanding student in elementary education who strives for excellence and high personal standards in the academic, social and professional environment.

Eligibility:

  1. A matriculated second semester junior (54-83 credits completed) planning to enroll for the senior year at Brockport.
  2. Registered in the elementary education certification program.

Criteria:

  1. Demostrate financial need.
  2. Indicate professional comportment and composure.
  3. Have good to excellent GPA.
  4. Have been or plan to be enrolled in a student teaching course.
