Susan Kwas Maloney '67 Scholarship

This $2,500 scholarship was established by Susan Kwas Maloney in loving memory of her parents, Margaret Henrici Kwas and John Thomas Kwas. Two scholarships will be awarded annually to support outstanding undergraduate students in The College at Brockport's Childhood Inclusive Certification Program (grade 1-6). Recipients must complete their student teaching assignment during the year the scholarship is received.

Eligibility:

  1. A matriculated student in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program.
  2. A GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  3. Demonstrate significant financial need.
  4. A passion for teaching elementary education.

Criteria:

  1. A 500-word essay which:
    1. describes why the applicant is deserving of the award,
    2. discusses the applicant's passion for and experience with elementary education (educational, professional or volunteer activities), and
    3. demonstrates how the scholarship will alleviate financial need.
  2. Provide a recent copy of the Degree Audit Report System (DARS).
