The Lena Sunseri Piedmont ’34 Scholarship

This scholarship was established to recognize and assist students who demonstrate a passion for education, commitment to the field of study, and demonstrate character appropriate to success in the profession.

Eligibility:

  1. Matriculated in the Education and Human Development teacher certification program at the graduate level in one of the following programs: Childhood Special Education, Childhood Literacy, Childhood Education Curriculum Specialist, Bilingual Education, and Adolescence Education: English.
  2. Preference will be given to married students
  3. Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Criteria:

  1. A letter of application for the award that highlights the applicant’s academic performance to date; describes the applicant’s dedication to the teaching profession; and states his/her commitment to completing the degree and goals after completion.
  2. Two letters of support from professionals in the field of education who can comment on the merits of the applicant as a potential recipient of The Lena Sunseri Piedmont ’34 Scholarship.
