THE ORLO DERBY AWARD IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

This award was established through the generosity of Dr. Orlo Derby, who served as a professor of education at Brockport 1941-1974. It is intended to recognize an outstanding undergraduate student registered in the elementary education certification program.

Eligibility:

  1. Undergraduate registered in elementary education certification program.
  2. Satisfactory academic average.

Criteria:

  1. Intention to become an elementary level teacher.
  2. Exemplifies the qualities of patience, kindness, and understanding with children.
  3. Demonstrates the ability to work well with fellow students and teachers.
