CYRIL AND GERTRUDE STANTON HARE AWARD

This award is established to honor the memory of Cyril Hare Sr. (1897-1969) and Gertrude Stanton Hare (1899-1954) parents of Marguerite Browne, class of 1944, member of the Hall of Heritage and Emeritus Professor, Education at SUNY Brockport College (1949-1985).

Eligibility and Criteria:

  1. Undergraduate or graduate students from Greece, New York community.
  2. Demonstrated a potential to be an outstanding teacher.
  3. Has a strong academic background with a GPA of at least 3.0 for the undergraduate and 3.25 for the graduate.
  4. Undergraduate should have completed at least 6 hours of certification program. Graduate should have completed at least 6 hours in Education.5. 5.
  5. Must have two semesters of study left in his/her teacher certificatipn program following the semester in which the award recipient is selected.
  6. The award will be received in the form of credit toward SUNY Brockport tuition.
