Student Teaching

student teaching

Student teaching is the final phase of the education program. It consists of two full-time placements at area school districts for a total of 15 weeks. Please refer to the program descriptions for placement requirements during student teaching, available on the left-hand tab. As with field experience, an application and resume must be submitted in the semester prior to student teaching in order to have the Field Experience Office secure a placement for teacher candidates. Teacher candidates are registered for student teaching by the Field Experience Office. In addition to their placement at a school district, teacher candidates in this phase must attend a weekly seminar with their college supervisor, as well as two mandatory student teaching workshops.
