Adolescence Math Inclusive Program Options

(Select the Option that Best Fits Your Needs/Circumstances)

 

OPTION 1

Alternate Adolescence Math Inclusive Education Programs (48-credits)

Purpose
These programs were developed for persons with a baccalaureate degree who do not hold initial certification and wish to obtain New York State initial and professional certifications in:

  • Math grades 7-12.
  • Math grades 5-6 extension.
  • Students with Disabilities grades 7-12 - generalist (special education).

Completion of these programs leads to a Master’s degree in Education and therefore also satisfy the NY State Master’s degree requirement for professional certification.

 

OPTION 2

Certification Only Adolescence Math Inclusive Education Programs (33-credits)

Purpose
These programs were developed for persons with a Master’s, PhD, or baccalaureate degree who do not hold initial certification and wish to obtain New York State initial certification in:

  • Math grades 7-12.
  • Math grades 5-6 extension.
  • Students with Disabilities grades 7-12 - generalist (special education).

Completion of these programs leads to an Advanced Certificate. Please note that these programs do not satisfy the NY State Master’s degree requirement for professional certification. Teacher certification candidates completing these programs will have 5 years from the initial certificate effective date to show NY State proof of the successful completion of an acceptable Master’s degree.
