Training Guide - Determine what training is required for your position

VAN SAFETY TRAINING

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is pleased to offer Van Safety Training for employees who wish to lease or rent a van from our Facilities and Planning department for official state business.

The training involves a classroom session as well as a short road test (for the initial training session). No fee is required.

This training is REQUIRED by The College at Brockport for any individual to rent/lease ANY state owned van, regardless of size.

The Van Certification process also requires a License Event Notification System (LENS) check through DMV.This process is conducted by Human Resources to protect the confidentiality of this information.

Complete and submit the LENS REQUEST FORM to Human Resources AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, if this is your initial training. Note: this process can take 4-6 weeks.

The form is available to print at both Human Resources http://www.brockport.edu/hr/forms/documents/lensrequestform.pdf and Facilities and Planning http://www.brockport.edu/facilities/vehicle/index.html.

Please pass this important information along to any of your employees or colleagues that may need to receive this training, and are not on this distribution list.

REFRESHER VAN SAFETY TRAINING (every 3 years following Initial training) For those who have previously been trained (3 or more years ago) in Van Safety, a shorter version is provided.
