EOP WELCOMES NEW STAFF MEMBERS TO THE FAMILY!
Dear EOP Students:
Welcome back !
If you have stopped around the EOP office, you might have noticed a new face around. I would like to introduce myself for those of you wondering who I might be. My name is Margery Poon and I am the new graduate counselor of the EOP family. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Buffalo and am currently obtaining my Master’s in Counselor Education at SUNY College at Brockport. This is my third semester as a graduate student at SUNY Brockport, and like many of you, I both work and go to school full-time. As a fellow student, I can relate to many of the issues you may be struggling with, such as stress or how to best manage one’s time. My goal is not only to share some of my experiences with you as a fellow student, but also to help you learn, grow and achieve academic success.
I am looking forward to sharing this spring semester with all of you. If you see me around the office, stop in and say HI! I hope to make your EOP experience an enjoyable one.
Hope to meet with all of you soon!
Margery Poon
Hello everyone! My name is Stefan McDonald, one of the new graduate counselors in EOP. I am really excited about getting to know and work with you throughout the course of the semester. I know that this semester is going to be a grind, but I want you to know that I am here if you need me.
I grew up on the west side of Rochester, New York. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Rochester. Currently, I am a second year graduate student in the Counselor Education program at SUNY Brockport. Both my mother and father attended SUNY Brockport so I am familiar with the campus.
I have worked with an array of young people and I consider this experience to be very special to me. In all my other jobs I was working with youths so that they could one day go to college. The fact that the young people here are extremely motivated and pursuing higher education is really exciting! I will work hard to assist you in whatever way I can and I know that I will be able to learn from you as well.
At the present time, my office hours are:
Wednesday 2:30- 6:30pm
Thursday 1:30- 5:30pm
I tend to be pretty flexible if another time works for you, so come down to EOP and visit. My office is located in the EOP Conference Room. Once again, I can’t wait to begin working with all of you and please stop by!
Stefan McDonald
Allow me to introduce myself to those of you who do not know me. My name is Latasha Craig and I am a graduate of SUNY College at Brockport. I began my college experience at SUNY Brockport as a freshman in 1997, majoring in criminal justice and received my bachelor’s of science in 2002.
From there I went on to obtain my masters in public administration degree in 2004. Recently, I was employed with the Monroe County Department of Human Services where I determined the eligibility of public assistance benefits. I am very excited to return to SUNY College at Brockport and the Educational Opportunity Program where I will be working with the many talented students in the EOP family. I was also an EOP student myself. While completing my master I worked as a graduate assistant counselor for EOP. So, this is not a new experience for me but one I embrace with open arms.
Please stop by my office as soon as possible, introduce yourself and let me know in what way I can be a resource for you. My door will always be open!
Latasha Craig
