EOP Welcomes a New Graduate Counselor With a Familiar Face
Hello everyone, my name is Andrea D. Rodriguez and I am the new Graduate Counselor for the Educational Opportunity Program. I am glad and excited for the upcoming year and hope to learn many new things while working in this program. I have recently graduated with a bachelor of science in English this past May 2006 from SUNY Brockport, and was accepted into the Alternate Education Program for English studies to continue onto my graduate studies. As an undergraduate E.O.P student I have learned the importance of work ethic and will bring this to the program and to the students.
I am originally from Brooklyn, NY and moved to Brockport to attend college and I could not have made a better decision for myself. My family currently resides in Brooklyn and continues to be one of my many motivations to keep going with my education. Education is the opportunity to grow and evolve into a more open-minded person; both professionally and personally and being part of the Educational Opportunity Program taught me that. I want to be able to give back to the program what was instilled in me as an undergraduate E.O.P student; strive for the best and never quit. This program has taught me so much about who I am and who I wish to become as I get older. I hope for a great year and let it be known that I have an open-door policy: the students are the reason why I strive to continue to improve as a Graduate Counselor. I hope each one of you reach for the top and realize that dreams can come true! Have a safe and good school year!!
