“We are a Family,” was the theme of the 2006 EOP Summer Program that took place from July 9th through August 4th. The 2006 Summer Program was the biggest yet, accommodating 75 entering pre-freshmen to SUNY Brockport. The Summer Program allows incoming freshmen to get a head start and preparation on academics and college life, allowing the transition from high school to college to be a smooth one. This summer students took courses in writing, math, history and computer skills in preparation for the fall 2006 semester. Congratulations, each student passed the college computer skills exam! Although the students worked hard to stay “On Task, On Time” which were the words we lived by this summer as we stressed the importance of this in college, there was also some fun time mixed into the four week program. We enjoyed movie night at the Brockport Strand Theatre, an EOP Family picnic, dinner at Old Country Buffet, Greece Ridge Mall and bowling at Ridgeway Bowl. The students became a part of the fun by bringing in their own creativeness and putting together a mock wedding in the dorms. We ended the fun with Karaoke in the Gallery Lounge and a rained-out trip to Six Flags Darien Lake.
Please help to welcome the entering freshmen to the EOP Family!
