August 2006 EOP Newsletter
Student Spotlight
In each newsletter, at least one EOP student will be given the spotlight to allow everyone to know a little more about what makes our students shine. To receive this profile, an EOP counselor must nominate the student for “The Student Spotlight.” No established criteria exist to receive this profile other than being an all-around great student.

When you see Jairo offer congratulations. Just make sure you do not take his advice on neckties.

Entering her sophomore year at SUNY Brockport Dericia has proven to me a dedicated student by maintaining over a 3.0 GPA. As a nursing student, Dericia is interested in becoming a pediatrics nurse, where she can help to improve the care of newborn babies. After graduating from college and obtaining a job as a nurse Dericia would like to get married and become a mother to two children. This summer Dericia spent her time working at The Leadership Program in Soho, NY which provides after school programs for public schools in New York City. When she is not working or doing college work she enjoys watching TV, favorite shows being Hell’s Kitchen and Flavor of Love, and hanging out.
