Financial Aid News

Very quickly you will be starting your holiday vacation. This will be the time to start your financial aid application process for the 2007/08 academic year.

As you know, we strongly encourage you to complete your FAFSA renewal online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You can start this process in January as soon as you obtain the needed income documentation.  You always want to use accurate information.  This speeds up the process for you.  At the end of the FAFSA process is a direct link to your TAP application.  If you need to have your PIN sent to you, you can do so at www.pin.ed.gov. We encourage the parent to sign the FAFSA using a pin number as well.  You will need to do the following as part of your financial aid application process:

  • Proof of filing your FAFSA must be submitted to your EOP counselor by February 15, 2007.  The release of your EOP check will be blocked if you fail to do so.
  • You must obtain signed copies of applicable income documentation for you and any involved parent (e.g. tax forms, social security, social services benefits).  This needs to be done for any income source reported on the FAFSA.
  • Please be aware that if a dependency override was done last year, a PIN will not be sent to you.  You must complete a hard copy FAFSA and form I12.  Both of which can be obtained from, and must be submitted to the financial aid office.
  • If you do not complete your TAP renewal application online, a renewal will be sent to you.
Make sure you and any parent complete any applicable federal tax forms as soon as possible.  This will help us complete your financial aid process in a timely manner.  Your financial aid is an important matter for the EOP family.  It is our goal to help you get all the financial aid to which you are entitled.  If you and/or your family have any questions, please contact your EOP counselor.  Best wishes for a happy and safe vacation!
