FINANCIAL AID NEWS
TIME IS MONEY! This is a critical time in completing your financial aid application process for the 2007/08 academic year. You were e-mailed over the break a financial aid checklist and parental letter outlining the process. You need to complete your FAFSA and TAP application online ASAP. The Web site is www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you need to obtain your and/or your parental PIN just go to www.pin.ed.gov. The TAP Web site is www.tapweb.org/totw. If you are an independent student, you need to complete your paper FAFSA and dependency override form in person in the financial aid office. As with any financial aid process, you must always use accurate and timely information. You should be prepared to submit necessary income documentation (e.g. tax forms, W2s, non-filer statements, social service statements, social security statements, etc.) Once they receive your FAFSA, the financial aid office will inform you of any additional forms you need to complete. Make sure you stay on top of this aspect of the process. This holds true for both your documents and those of any applicable parent and/or guardian. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY MORE EOP CHECKS THIS TERM UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR FAFSA. IF YOU PLAN TO GRADUATE THIS TERM, YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR INTENT TO GRADUATE FORM PRIOR TO RECEIVING YOUR CHECK. Time is a critical factor in the financial aid process. Grant funds are not a limitless well. You need to complete your financial aid application as soon as possible. Delays can impact you getting all the proper financial aid to which you are entitled. Don’t forget to complete your exit interview in the financial aid office if you are graduating this term. Please work closely with your counselor on this vital process. We are here to help ensure a seamless transition to next year.
