STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
In each newsletter, at least one EOP student will be given the spotlight to allow everyone to know a little more about what makes our students shine. To receive this profile, an EOP counselor must nominate the student for “The Student Spotlight.” No established criteria exist to receive this profile other than being an all-around great student.
Former Students: Jennifer Packard
Hometown: Clarkson, NY
Major: Anthropology
Career Goal: Searching for the Lost Ark
Counselor: Dan Askey
We have a great scholar in the family. Jennifer has been named the 2007 Scholar of the Year for the anthropology department. She will be spending this fall term doing research in Egypt. When you see Jennifer offer your congratulations to an amazing member of the family.
Student: Tiffany Collazo
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Major: Communications
Career Goal: Speech Pathologist
Counselor: Ana Veras
Tiffany is a third year Communication major. She’s avidly involved in the college community via the Association for Latin American Students as their vice president. Tiffany hopes to get her masters in speech pathology after graduating from Brockport in 2008. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys dancing Salsa, and she even teaches it. So, at the next dance workshop, make sure to claim your spot in her dance card.
Student: Shaheim Bradshaw
Hometown: Huntington, NY
Major: Physical Education
Career Goal: Physical Education teacher
Counselor: Stefan McDonald
“It’s a match, not a game,” says EOP junior Shaheim Bradshaw in regards to those who are unfamiliar with the nuances of collegiate wrestling. Shaheim was recently named Athlete of the Week on February 19, 2007. He received this honor after he won the individual title in the 165-pound weight class at the ECWC Conference Championships. He is on his way to the NCAA championships to become an All-American for the third year in a row. You don’t want any of my man on the mat. Believe that!
