THE ALPHA AND OMEGA OF FINANCIAL AID AND STUDENT BILLS
This is a critical time for your financial aid and student bill. It is the start of the 2007/08 financial aid process and the end of the current year’s process. As this year winds down, there are many current year items of which you need to take care. If you are planning on going to summer school and are in need of financial aid, you need to be working with the Financial Aid Office to accomplish this goal. You need to complete a separate application for summer aid. You also want to make sure that you thoroughly understand the status of your 200702 student bill. You want to be aware of any outstanding balance. This can impact your status. Make sure you are aware of your current TAP compliance status. Your situation could impact your decision about attending summer school. If you are graduating this term, you need to complete an exit interview with the Financial Aid Office.
This is a critical time in the application process for your 2007/08 financial aid. You want to make sure that your FAFSA and TAP applications were properly filed and processed. Please keep track of your supplemental financial aid document obligations. Don’t forget that if you are an independent student you need to complete a paper FAFSA and a dependency override form the Financial Aid Office as well. Any problems with either document can cause critical problems and delays in your financial aid delivery. Once you are packaged, make sure you accept your award. You do this right on Banner. Once you register, make sure you affirm your enrollment. This locks in your courses.
When your fall bill is generated, make sure you review it very carefully. Pay particular attention to the charges. Are they accurate? Do you have the correct meal plan? Do you understand Easy Money? Don’t forget that if you have health insurance, you will need to waive the College plan. Don’t forget about the optional alumni fee. If you will be returning in the fall, your May 3, 2007, EOP check will not be released until you are registered and affirmed. As always, please remember to work closely with your EOP counselor to ensure a smooth transition from this academic year to the next.
HAVING A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE SUMMER IS MANDATORY!
