WELCOME BACK! We hope you had a happy and safe holiday break. As with the start of any semester, there are certain items that need attention. As we enter the spring 2008 semester, it is a critical time in the financial aid process as FAFSA and TAP applications need to be completed by February 15, 2008. Please carefully read the information below as there has been a major change in the financial aid renewal process.
▪ To all students with independence override status, you are now required to complete your FAFSA renewal application on line at FAFSA.ed.gov. A paper FAFSA is no longer required. You still must complete your dependency over ride documentation which can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office. Also, it is still necessary to submit your independent income verification documents to the Financial Aid Office as well.
▪ To all students with dependent student status, you are still required to complete your FAFSA renewal online.
▪ All students must complete their TAP renewal as well. There is a link available once you complete your renewal FAFSA online.
Please remember that proof of filing your FAFSA must be submitted to your EOP counselor by February 15, 2008. EOP checks will not be given to you unless your financial aid file is complete. If you do not electronically sign your FAFSA using your PIN, you must print the signature page prior to submitting the FAFSA. You will need to provide your signature as well as your parent’s signature (if you are a dependent student) and submit this page to your EOP counselor for mailing. Prompt and accurate completion of the process is important to you receiving a proper financial aid package. Other documents may be requested by the financial aid office once they have received your FAFSA information. Federal tax returns and W2 forms must be submitted if you and/or your family estimated income on the FAFSA. It is very important that you thoroughly understand all aspects of the financial aid renewal process.
