Gary’s Letter
I want to first congratulate each of our graduating seniors and all of you who were recognized for your achievements this year. I want to especially honor our co-senior scholar honorees for their fine achievement. We are proud of you. I also want to thank all of you who came out to the 29th Annual Honors & Awards Banquet. Your presence meant so much to me personally.
As father time draws us closer to the end of another academic year and the spring air tempts you to close your books and dawn your shorts and sandals, be careful, it’s not over yet. I feel it’s important for me to remind each of you that along with spring comes final papers, and of course, final exam week. You remember those, don’t you? Now you have the opportunity to either solidify that B or A grade or to draw nearer to it. It’s the opportunity to salvage a bad grade and turn it into something respectful. Now it’s at these times that it takes someone who is determined and who has a certain amount of discipline to say, “I will not go out, even it if is 75 degrees and all of my friends are out there begging me to come out.” Now let me commend you on your fortitude ahead of time if you can do this with success. I at least hope you remember these words of encouragement when those times come and come they will.
Since this is our last newsletter for the year, I hope that every one of you is successful in the final grades you earn. I also hope that you have a fine and successful summer. To our graduating seniors please remember we are truly here for you. Much joy and success in whatever endeavors you choose. “If you need me, call me.”
