Half Way There

Hi Folks! I have a few questions for all of you, if you don’t mind. How are you doing with that mid-term exam and how about that paper? Is it on the way to becoming grade A quality? Well, it’s midterm already and we are about half way to the end of the semester and another year. Now it’s not all work. Spring break is just around the corner and remember we are celebrating birthdays for everyone born in February on March 4th . March birthdays’ celebration will be on March, 26th. We will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of EOP at The College at Brockport during our Annual Honors and Recognition Banquet on May 2nd. I hope each of you is planning to be there.

Now I’ve got a few more questions for discussion. For instance, have you completed your FAFSA for your financial aid for 2009 – 2010? If you are graduating this spring or summer have you completed the graduation card in the Registration & Records Office? And are you making plans and taking the right steps for finding a job or attending graduate school? Well, what are you waiting on? Let us help you. I hope to personally speak with each and every one of you who are graduating during the next few months to discuss your future plans. Now that I’ve asked all my questions, stay at it and remember to do your best.

BECOME AN EOP MENTEE IN OUR MENTORING PROGRAM!!!!

Did you know that research has shown that students who have a mentor while in college improve their GPAs and stay in school to obtain their degree? Students also feel that they are more focused in their career direction as a result of a mentoring relationship. Let’s not forget the lasting benefit of the friendship and bond you will develop with your mentor!

For more information, speak with you EOP Counselor and/or stop by and see me in my office #G28 in the EOP department or you can contact me, Kate O’Brien, Mentoring Program Coordinator, at 585-395-5434 or kaobrien@brockprot.edu
