Alumni Job Search Work Team
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Why join an Alumni JSWT? Most people struggle with the job search process for a number of reasons. The biggest one is that they do not have sufficient support or information. Job seekers often just give up and take that first job offer, rather than going for the career they are really looking for. The Alumni JSWT will give you the support you need to assist you in navigating the job search terrain. The Alumni JSWT serves as an advisory panel, a personal/task support group, project management team and an effective core network. To register, go to Eagle Connect and click on Alumni. Faculty/Staff Volunteers to Facilitate Discussions
7 pm - 9:30 pm
Request from Valerie Mostyn, Program Coordinator, Brockport Student Government
On March 4th at 7 pm BSG is having T Leon Williams come to campus and speak. His speech is titled "Bias in the Face of Diversity." Mr. Williams has 20 years of experience with multicultural affairs that he utilizes to educate students on facilitating difficult discussions. " Students will be equipped to address physical, spoken or written act of abuse, harassment, intimidation, use of vulgarity, bullying and any restriction or prevention of free movement of an individual." Especially in light of recent events on our campus, we want this to be an opportunity for learning and growth for our students. Not only to understand perspectives, but also to engage in conversations. Mr. Williams will be lecturing about this difficult topic, and we are seeking some guidance on how to turn this into an interactive discussion after the lecture. We lack the expertise to lead students through these discussions, and would like to encourage Faculty and Staff members to reach out and help us facilitate this event.
