As the Director of Utilities and Energy, Greg and his team are responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost effective delivery and energy tracking for all campus utilities. His crew consists of 23 skilled trades workers (electricians, 24 x 7 plant utility engineers, generator mechanics, plumbers, refrigeration mechanics, technicians, and mechanics) and several seasonal student and temporary workers. Greg’s team is charged with the operation, maintenance, long-range planning, and project design review for all campus utilities – electricity, domestic water, hot water, steam, natural gas, condensate return, fire alarm systems, boiler systems, chilled water systems, HVAC systems, elevators, sanitary sewer, storm drains, air compressors, and other utilities throughout campus.
Greg is a registered professional engineer who joined The College in the summer of 2011 after twenty plus-years working in the Southeast in other higher educational facilities and the chemical manufacturing industry. Greg is the campus leader for our energy conservation and utility purchasing programs, partnering closely with dedicated students, faculty, and staff throughout the campus community.John Mullins - Plant Utilities Engineer II
