Economic Profile

Each year, Brockport graduates 25% of all College students in the Rochester area, with many staying in Rochester to work or attend graduate school. Our alumni serve in leadership roles in business, government, public safety, health care, the arts, sciences and education.

  • The College is a $187.1-million annual enterprise.
  • The total impact of the College is $411.7-million when both direct and indirect expenditures are taken into account.
  • 28,512 alumni live and work in the Rochester area, making a significant positive impact on the local economy. More than 50,000 of the College's 70,000 alumni have remained in New York.
  • SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center had provided free business consulting services to some 13,000 local businesses, helping to invest nearly $95 million in the area's economy and create some 3,000 jobs since 1987.

Total Value of Capital Assets: $185.7 million, including land,buildings and equipment

College Endowment: $4.8 million (June 2007)

State Support: Total state support accounts for approximately $24 million of SUNY Brockport’s annual operating budget

Fund Raising: More than 5,700 alumni, friends, corporations and foundations contributed nearly $1.9 million to the Brockport College Fund in the 2006-07 year. The rate of alumni participation for 2006-07 was 6 percent, and the College's annual Faculty/Satff Campaign had an impressive participation rate of nearly 42%.

Academic Scholarships: 536 outstanding students were awarded scholarships totalling $3.5 million during the 2006-07 academic year.
