SUNY Financial Aid Day

SUNY College at Brockport will be hosting a third annual Financial Aid Day for students and parents.This program is designed to answer questions and provide assistance regarding the financial aid application, types of aid available and the award process. SUNY Brockport will also provide hands-on assistance from financial aid professionals in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The program will provide information on the following:

How To Locate Additional Sources of Aid
Line-By-Line Review Of The FAFSA
Filing The FAFSA On The Web
SUNY Brockport Admissions

Registration for the program and a continental breakfast will begin at 9:30am in Seymour College Union. The workshops and presentations for the program will begin at 10:00 am. Additionally, admissions staff will be available to answer any of your questions regarding the admissions process. The program agenda is listed below for more details.

Registration and Refreshments (9:30am-11:15am)
Seymour Student Union Lobby

General Financial Aid Presentation (10:00am-11:00am and 11:15am-12:15pm)
Seymour Student Union (Ballroom)

A presentation will be given detailing the financial aid process, the major aid programs, how to apply and how to locate additional sources of aid. A question and answer period will follow.
If you have attended a financial aid program at your high school or college it may not be necessary to attend this session.

Inputting the FAFSA on the Web (10:00am-12:15pm)
Seymour Student Union (Computer Lab - Lower Level)

This hands-on session will allow you to actually enter your FAFSA on the Web while being assisted by our staff. Participants must complete the FAFSA Pre-Application Worksheet in advance. The work sheet is available at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. The student and at least one parent should also have a federal personal identification number (PIN) if possible. You may obtain a personal identification number at www.pin.ed.gov. If you would also like to complete the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application please bring a copy of your 2005 New York State tax return.
You may attend this session at anytime during the hours listed. Please allow a half hour to complete the FAFSA online.

FAFSA Overview Presentation (10:00am-11:00am and 11:15am-12:15pm)
Seymour Student Union (Room 220/221)

This group presentation will include a thorough review of the FAFSA, detailed instructions and helpful hints on completing the form.

Campus Tour (12:30pm-1:30pm)
Seymour Student Union Lobby

For those interested, the program will conclude with a walking tour of the campus with a student tour guide. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

*We will also have experienced admissions office personnel available to answer any questions you may have about SUNY Brockport and its programs.
