Fall Classic a huge success!
This year’s Fall Classic golf tournament to support student success through the Extraordinary Academic Scholarship program had a gross profit of more than $55,000. The tournament, hosted by the Brockport Foundation, drew a full field of 128 golfers to Irondequoit Country Club in Pittsford on Sept. 12. It was the largest field since the tournament began in 2005.
After a gorgeous day on the course — during which the sun shined on golfers and temperatures hit 80 degrees — participants wrapped up the day at the clubhouse, buying raffle tickets and mingling with Ellsworth the Golden Eagle, who debuted his new look at the reception. Extraordinary Academic Scholarship recipient Amy Dorman ’12 addressed the audience at the dinner and awards ceremony. Kathy Halstead joined President John R. Halstead, who captained a foursome, for dinner again this year. Be sure to view some of the pictures from throughout the day while you are here!
The College would like to thank the Fall Classic Committee for its service. This year’s Committee was chaired by Foundation Board members Rob Pepe and Charlie Nesbitt, with major assistance by fellow Foundation Board member Michael Doyle. Other Foundation Board members captaining foursomes included Diane McCue, board chair, and Marc Iacona. In addition, Staples sponsored a foursome and was a Cart Sponsor thanks to the generosity of Foundation Board Vice Chair Joe Doody. Also, Foundation Board Member Nick Billotti and Turner Construction donated tickets to a New York Yankees game.
The Fall Classic Committee also included Mike Andriatch, Kevin Craig, Ralph Eisenmann, Scott Haines, Nick Mascari, Janet Roy, John Sapienza and Gary Stevens. From the Advancement Office, Leadership Giving Officer Mary E. McCrank coordinated and steered the success of the tournament.
Thanks to everyone who supported this year’s tourney, including the sponsors and in-kind supporters of the event. The Foundation also would like to thank the President, Cabinet, faculty, staff, emeriti and alumni who joined forces for this most enjoyable Fall Classic!
