2013 Master's Level Graduate Research Conference

Session I - Session II - Session III

Ethics in Fee for Service

Abstract Today families struggle with a variety of issues which may lead to the need for supervised visitation with children. The demand for supervised visitation services has increased which has led to long wait lists at agencies. Some agencies in the United States offer supervised visitation services for a fee. The purpose of this research study is to examine the ethical implications of fee-for-service in relation to supervised visitation in an attempt to shorten wait lists. The participants for this research study are supervised visitation providers who are participating in a focus group which took place January 2013 in Buffalo, NY. The researchers have developed a series of open-ended questions relating to fee-for-service and supervised visitation. Researchers facilitated a focus group in order to receive information. A qualitative study was conducted with the use of grounded theory to analyze the data collected.
