Preparing Leaders

Graduate-level academics at Brockport prepare students  for leadership positions in the professions, the technologies, the arts, public policy, and academia. Common to all 53 graduate programs is the ongoing inquiry into the nature, concepts and professionals standard of a discipline; the culture, context and history of a particular field; a concentration on research, writing and practical experience; and interdisciplinary approaches that often include subfields of interest.

A Brockport education teaches students to understand their relationship to the world and their role as citizens in it. This tenet is put into practice during graduate school. All programs of study emphasize the furthering of humanity through scientific and technological advances, education, and public administration. In the humanities, history and philosophy give us a perspective on the human condition, while the arts give us illumination into our better selves. Through deep exploration, a spirit of innovation, and training students to practice what they do wisely and well, we foster leadership for the world.
