Degree Seeking Students

"Matriculated" graduate students have been admitted to a program of study leading to a master’s degree, an advanced certificate or a Certificate of Advanced Study.  A faculty advisor from the approporate academic department is assigned to each matriculated student to ensure they meet the program requirements. Final responsibility for meeting all graduate requirements remains with each student.

Applications are processed by The Graduate School on a continuing basis and are reviewed electronically by a graduate admission committee. Although each program has a specific application deadline late applications will be considered on a space-available basis.

The admission committee may recommend that an applicant be granted one of two types of admission:

  1. Regular admission: Matriculation in a degree program without reservation.
  2. Conditional admission: Matriculation into a degree program on a conditional basis. These applicants will be apprised in writing of the specific courses (up to 12 credits) they need to take and the minimum grad they need to earn in order to achieve regular admission status.

Students recommended for admission to a masters, advanced certificate, or certificate of advanced study will receive an official letter of acceptance from The Graduate School. Any other correspondence regarding admission from an academic department is not an considered official.
