Research Opportunities

Our graduate students enjoy many opportunities to conduct original research independently and with faculty. Many of our students get financial support for their scholarly work from several College programs and from research grants that faculty secure from a variety of sources, including:

• National Science Foundation
• NASA
• Environmental Protection Agency
• National Endowment for the Humanities
• US Department of Education

• Biology — zebrafish as a model for the human digestive system
• Computer Science — multitasking with information technology
• Counselor Education — the lived experiences of separation and divorce
• Dance — the relationships between dance and sport
• Environmental Sciences — ecological health of the Great Lakes
• Geology — remediation of lead contaminated urban soils
• History — US and Puerto Rican labor and politics
• Meteorology — lake effect snow storm dynamics
• Physics — superconductivity in metallic films
• Psychology — perceptions of pride and marginalization
