Brockport Student Health Insurance

Please click this link for information on the International Student Insurance Plan, which is described on the Office of Student Accounts' web page.

Health insurance is mandatory for all full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in 12 or more credits. The College has contracted with Aetna Student Health to provide a health insurance option for the 2009-2010 academic year. All full-time students are automatically charged for the plan on their student bill.

  • If you have health insurance coverage, you may waive the insurance charge online by completing an electronic waiver by the deadline. Please see the waiver instructions below.*
  • Students… if losing health insurance coverage during the year, you are eligible to enroll in the Aetna Plan within 30 days.  See below **

Features of the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan

  • 12 month, worldwide coverage through Aetna Student Health
  • Access to local and national network of preferred providers through Aetna
  • The maximum benefit for the current policy year is $90,000 per accident or sickness.
  • No referral required
  • $25 copay for physician office visits (in network)
  • National prescription drug card program
  • $1,000 annual prescription benefit
  • There is a tiered copay system for generic and brand name drugs at participating pharmacies.

The 2009-2010 premium for the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan will be $1265, which includes a $25 administrative fee.  The premium for students whose initial full-time course registration is effective with the spring (January) 2010 term will be $748.

Waiver deadlines are September 29, 2009 for fall and February 22, 2010 for new spring 2010 students.

  • Access Aetna Student Health at www.aetnastudenthealth.com
  • Click on "Find Your School" in upper right corner
  • Scroll down to "T" and click on "The College at Brockport"
  • Click on "Plans & Products Offered to You" in left column
  • Click on “Enroll/Waive"
  • Select "Waive from the Student Medical Insurance Plan"
  • Click on "Continue" and follow the prompts to complete the electronic waiver transaction.
  • Keep the confirmation number for your records.
