2008 Holiday Helping Hand

2008 marks the 24th year that The College at Brockport has sponsored Holiday Helping Hand. The main purpose of Holiday Helping Hand is to provide less fortunate families and individuals with groceries, gift cards, and presents for the holiday season. Without the assistance of Holiday Helping Hand, the majority of these families would not have the monetary ability to provide for their families for the holiday season. Each year approximately 15-20 families in the immediate area are selected based upon information obtained from local area school districts, the Brockport Child Care Center, and personal contacts. Each of the families is then "adopted" by individuals, campus departments, residence halls, student clubs, and community groups. Contributions of non-perishable food, new toys, new clothing During finals week, stop in at our Wrapping Party to wrap a few presents and see all the contributions from the College community. Great way to get in the holiday spirit! On behalf of the adopted families, our deepest thanks and gratitude for your generosity. Your kindness and caring will make their holiday season a memorable one. Happy Holidays! |
