Parade Registration Form
Homecoming Weekend 2008, October 2- 5 is fast approaching! The parade will take place on Saturday, October 4 at 11:30 am. If your club/organization and/or department is interested in participating in the parade, please complete the attached parade registration form (PDF)and return it to the Office of Campus Life, Room 203 Seymour College Union no later than Friday, September 26 at 5 pm. Parade registration forms will be accepted beginning Thursday, September 11 at 9 am- in person only.
Parade Participation Rules:
- Floats must fit the 2008 Theme: Olympics (This can be a sporting event, country the Olympics have taken place, specific Olympic year… use your imagination!)
- Float theme/design approved on a first come, first serve basis by the Office of Campus Life
- Floats are to be built on a flatbed, hay wagon, car, or pickup truck. Floats may not exceed the dimensions of a flatbed. Maximum height is ten feet (in order to fit under railroad bridge)
- Vehicles must have proper lights and be in good working order
- Participants must adhere to The College at Brockport policies at all times, including ABSOLUTELY NO alcohol to be present, consumed, or represented on any float or unit in the parade.
- All parade participants are to arrive at 10:30 am on Clinton Street in the Village of Brockport for parade line-up
- No stopping at the judges’ stand during the parade, parade must continue to move along.
- Floats are judged on originality, best use of theme, participation, enthusiasm, and creativity/design
The parade route, beginning in the Village of Brockport, is as follows:, Clinton Street, turn right onto Main Street, turn right onto College Street, left onto Utica Street, right onto Adams Street, and continue to New Campus Drive toward Special Olympic Park ending at the corner of New Campus Drive and Commencement Drive. Parade participants will not be permitted to enter Lot T or Lot V near Tuttle Complex at the conclusion of the parade.
