Honors Program CoursesThe Honors Program courses are small, interactive seminars with an average enrollment of about 15 students. The flexibility of the Honors Program gives students the freedom to select courses according to their own individual interests, abilities and career plans. In addition, most of the Honors courses are Honors sections of General Education courses that satisfy college General Education requirements, but students may also choose to take Honors courses as electives. Early registration privileges make it easy for Honors students to plan their courses each semester. All Honors students are expected to take at least one Honors course per year and maintain a 3.25 minimum GPA to remain active in the program. All Honors students are also required to complete an Honors Senior Thesis, an experience that many students find adds great value to their undergraduate education. In addition, students are encouraged but not required to pursue internships or study abroad programs as part of their Honors coursework. Honors Program courses are tailored to two different categories of students: Entering Freshmen is designed for entering freshmen and Transfers/Current Brockport Students is for students transferring with a year or two of college credits from another institution.
