The Honors College seeks to provide an opportunity for students—whether they are transfer students just entering the College at Brockport or students already attending the college—to start the Honors College at the midpoint in their undergraduate education. The Honors College offers a curriculum designed to meet the needs of students who are serious about getting the most out of their last two years of college. The simplicity and flexibility of the Honors College's curriculum enables juniors and seniors students to complete their Honors requirements within two years by combining regular College courses with small interactive Honors seminars enrolling about 15 students.
Most of the courses offered satisfy requirements of the College’s General Education Program. In addition, the Honors Senior Thesis project is often used to satisfy an academic major thesis requirement. Therefore, completing the Honors curriculum during the junior and senior years of college does not usually require taking extra credit hours in order to complete your undergraduate degree.
