Honors Program

College Honors Admission
for Freshmen

The Honors curriculum for entering freshmen is specially tailored to satisfy General Education requirements (which are required of all Brockport students). Honors students have the flexibility to choose a combination of Honors courses and conventional courses to meet these requirements. This flexibility allows Honors students to plan their academic schedules according to their own individual interests, abilities and career plans.

In addition to satisfying General Education requirements through Honors courses, students often are able to meet an academic major requirement by completing the Honors Senior Thesis, a research project accomplished by working closely with a faculty member chosen by the student. Therefore, completing the Honors curriculum does not involve taking extra credit hours in order to complete your undergraduate degree!
