The Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees to exchange previously accrued vacation in return for a credit to be applied towards their employee share of health insurance premium on a biweekly basis.
***UUP Employees earning less than $61,763 ***
Full-time employees who enroll in this program will forfeit a total of:
1.5 days of vacation leave from their accrual balances at the time of enrollment in return for a credit of up to $250/$27.78 per check.
***UUP Employees earning between $61,763 - $88,257***
1 day vacation leave from their accrual balances at the time of enrollment in return for a credit of up to $250/$27.78 per check.
The 2013 program year will affect paychecks through 12/18/13. Depending on the date enrollment forms are received, you may see the credit as early as 8/28/13. The full $250 will be applied by 12/18 regardless of the date the forms are received in August.
The credit applied is $27.78 per pay period OR the biweekly cost of the enrollee’s employee share NYSHIP contribution, whichever is less.
Vacation deductions will be made by payroll for employees using the online time and attendance system.
Part-time employees will be pro-rated accordingly based on work percentage and the figures above.
In order to enroll, an employee must:
• Have a minimum balance of vacation leave of at least 8 days after making the forfeiture; and,
• Be a NYSHIP enrollee (contract holder) in either the Empire Plan or an HMO at the time of enrollment.
