The Hunter Institute on Young Children has been established through the generosity of Wil and Judy Hunter, long time supporters of The College at Brockport. The Institute supports educational and scholarly activities by College faculty and staff focusing on young children. We sponsor a one-day annual conference for professionals working with young children and the College at Brockport students and faculty. The annual conference will address critical issues about young children. The Institute also fosters collaboration with the early childhood professional community, to lead to additional activities as the Institute is developed.
The mission of the Hunter Institute on Young Children is to positively affect the growth and development of young children by providing quality education and professional development for their teachers and childcare providers. The Institute also seeks to promote an ongoing dialogue on best-practices and methods for educating early childhood professionals, thereby contributing to the continuing development of the profession.
The Hunter Institute on Young Children will provide quality, affordable, practitioner-based workshops and conferences that support the professional development of the teachers and care providers of young children.
The Hunter Institute on Young Children will sponsor professional forums for the exchange of ideas and best- practices that address issues surrounding early childhood education and professional development, providing a bridge among academics, administrators, teachers and childcare providers in the field.
