Abstract
Clusters of commodity hardware form most of the fastest supercomputing systems around the world. Istanbul Technical University Grid (ITU-Grid) system is a newly constructed cluster system, which is being tested and improved to be placed in world's fastest High Performance Computing Systems list. In this study, HPC Challenge benchmark suite was run on a small part of the ITU-Grid in order to study the improvement steps according to the results of the benchmark tests and further application of them on the whole system. The effects of improvements are explained for each step in detail.
