Career Services offers many internship opportunities ranging from one credit programs to paid positions. The time commitment required by an internship also ranges from a few hours per week to full-time positions. You can be involved in internships on campus, in the greater Rochester area, in your home town, or in new locations across the county like Washington, D.C. or Disney World. Students, who participate in internships, perform well academically. In fact, working students at Brockport have higher grades than their non-working classmates. When surveyed, over 78 percent of our employed students agree that "work significantly contributes to one’s overall educational experience." To help finance your internship Brockport offers the Glenn S. Goldberg '80 Scholarship.
Through the generous donation of Glenn S. Goldberg, ’80 and Kim M. Burke, the State University College at Brockport Foundation, Inc. has established the Glenn S. Goldberg Scholarship. This competitive program supports full semester student internships during the academic year or summer to help provide students with valuable internship experiences to expand the student's knowledge and application of skills learned in the clasroom. Assistance is in the form of a $3,000 educational expense grant to support a student’s semester-long internship. Application deadlines are November 1, for spring semester internships; March 1 for summer semester internships; and April 1, for fall semester internships. Email the IEL with questions. Complete guidelines and eligibilty requrements are on the application form.
